Yaswant Devarakonda

My Life Story

I was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India and moved to Baytown, Texas, USA at the age of 2. I lived in Baytown till college and now consider myself to be Texan above all else, love for country music included. I chose to attend The University of Texas at Austin over Texas A&M over a coin flip, and in 2018 graduated with a B.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Astronomy. Then I ended up at Texas A&M anyway for graduate school, where I am currently working towards my PhD in Astronomy, with a focus in statistics. I am also the adopted father of a spoiled 5 year old terrier named Lulu.

Hobbies and Interests

After hours, I enjoy a wide range of (mainly sedentary) activities. I am a frequenter of happy hours and an avid gamer, of both the video and board kind. I play a lot of D&D and other tabletop rpgs, and spent plenty of time dreaming up new character and campaign concepts. Recently I've taken up cycling and learning to play the ukulele. Most of my time, however, is spent ensuring my dog has the best life.
